at the Sustainability Academy at Lawrence Barnes in Burlington, Vermont.

Agenda:

Welcome to The Sustainability Academy at Lawrence Barnes, the nation's first K-5 magnet school with a sustainability focus!

• What is Education for Sustainability?
• What does it look like in a K-5 setting?
•  Tour and Program Highlights from SA teachers, community members, resource providers, students

Discussion circles

• What does Education for Sustainability looks like in other schools and settings? Share examples from your own programs.
• How can we be a part of sustainability in our schools and communities?
• Is sustainability a value?  How can we present sustainability perspectives on an issue in a non-biased way?
• How do you sustain yourself as a practitioner to be able to hold both the knowledge of the crises facing the planet and the hope for the future?

The Sustainability Academy is at 123 North Street, Burlington.  Look for street-side parking on either North Street, Rose Street, or North Champlain Street (please not in the school lot as after-school programming needs the space).
