Barry King Receives VT Governor's Award!
SWEEP's newsletter editor and longtime Board member, Barry King, was awarded the "Outstanding Educator and Steward of Vermonts Natural Resources" award as part of the Vermont Governors Environmental Awards. Barry's achievements include more than three decades devoted to outdoor and environmental education. She spent 20 years training students, teachers and staff at the Keewaydin Environmental Education Center and she has or continues to serve on the Board of Directors for Vermont SWEEP, the Envirothon, the Otter Creek Natural Resources Conservation District, and the Middlebury Natural Foods Co-op. SWEEPers Win 2004 NEEEA Environmental Educator Awards!
Congratulations to Barry King and Keeping Track! Barry King, who has served on the SWEEP Board for many terms, was awarded the Nonformal Educator Award at the 2004 New England Environmental Education Alliance Conference (NEEEA). Keeping Track was awarded the Marie Pirie Award for an environmental education program. Susan Morse of Keeping Track was on hand to accept the award.
